WOW. What a journey. I have learned so much and have stepped out of my technologically impaired box. I still have a lot to learn but I now am not afraid of trying something new. I will continue to sort through my web sites and save them into del.icio.us in a very organized way. That will take awhile but I can't wait to get started. I will keep using the podcasts I discovered and venture out looking for more.
Thank you, Ron, for your instruction and guidance along the way. It has been a fun learning experience.

del.icio.us.com/dschaible3 I love del.icio.us I have so many web sites that I now am going to organize into my delicious account. What a time saver and I will actually use it. So many times I have just found a new sight because it was easier than going through all of my unorganized files. It is great to be able to share with others and use some things others have found. This will be a great time saver at work and a big help.

U-tube. As I searched through u-tube, check out Ted, teacher tube, and school tube I did find some videos that would be useful in the classroom. Most of the ones I found would be good lead ins to a subject area. If I were a Phys ed teacher, I found a great video about a college age girl who was a double amputee and she went to the track coach at Georgetown University and talked him into letting her tryout for the track team. It turned out to be a great learning experience for both of them. This could be a great motivational video for running or even for any disabled atheletes.
I did see a problem with too many non usable videos. The best way to deal with that would be to book mark good ones as you find them. I do no that our school does block most u-tube videos however I have been able to open some.

Twitter. I find that Twitter is not really an option for me. I do not have any type of cell phone so Twitter would have to be done on my home or school computer. I do not have time during the school year. It would take more time for me to turn on my computer in the morning and go into my twitter account just to hear a little about what someone is doing. If I need to know about my family or friends that bad I can just call them on the phone. Once I get to work I can talk to whoever I need to talk with. Any messages sent to me throughout the day are through email and to me that is good enough. If our principal wants all of us to know something she just sends an email out to the entire school. If I did have a cell phone with internet capabilities I would not be able to have it on while I am working any way.

I see bookmarking as being very useful as far as organization. Right now I have many web sites out there I would like to use more but have no organization to them. When it comes to finding one in my e-files it is just easier to search again for a new one. It also would be very helpful to share with others that have already found great sights. This also is a safe place to keep my addresses. Every summer our computers are ghosted and files are lost if they are not put in a safe place.
It is important to assign names to tags that are specific to the topic. There could be many different subjects under a heading so you have to narrow it down. You also have to think about naming it without using commas, spaces, and underscores. You want to think about who you want to look at it.

WOW! It is amazing what is out there. You can find information on just about anything from educational tools to sports. I can see using a PLN as being very useful. If you have a question about how to teach something, different ways to approach teaching something, or just want more, you can find it. Exchanging lesson plans is a great idea. Others are so willing to share their knowledge.
Just today my son and husband are going ice fishing. They went on a sight and found comments from fishermen on where the fish are biting today and where the best ice is. Very helpful for them.
As anything, I always am a little afraid to put my name out there because of liability. If I say something is it going to come back and get me some where along the line. That is the only problem I ses with PLN.

I picked Maps from the web 2.0 list. I visited google maps, live maps, and google earth. I found all of them very easy to use. I liked how you could see the maps in all different ways, from states and cities to the terrain. These are very useful to use in the classroom. I especially like google earth and have used it with a smart board. It is great for Social Studies. What ever you are talking about, from the first settlers and how they came here, Native American tribes, studying Latin American countries, you can touch the smart board and drag directly to the area you are discussing. It is a great tool.
For fun I looked at the food sit on the Web 2.0 and I found some great recipes.
